Great DVD player for home
This DVD/CD player is a good value. The picture isn't the best I've ever seen, but it's quite watchable. It's clear and bright. The volume was set at maximum when I got it, so beware when you turn it on the first time. The up side of that is that I could hear everything clearly in spite of a slight hearing loss. It's not full, rich sound-- this is enough to get you through a movie and know what's going on. It's not going to blow you away with realistic sound, but you can plug in some headphones if you want fuller sound. I like that you can play movies while the lid is closed. I can listen to my favorite shows at the office kind of like radio. It feels solid, looks sleek and is easy to carry.
It was easy to just take it out of the box and start playing. You'll probably be familiar with most of the commands, but if you want to get full flexibility, you'll need to look at the manual. I don't like to rely on a battery, and I don't watch stuff while I'm driving, but I think most...

Two Hour Battery Life?
I had never heard of the Verezano brand before so was curious how this product would shape up. All in all, not bad at all for my purposes, but, as the title of my review indicates, a battery life that is shorter than many movies just wouldn't cut it if you were taking this on a long train ride.
One strange thing about the swivel screen is that, when slightly turned, it blocks access to the play, pause, and volume buttons. It's also somewhat bulky.
The plus side is that the picture is actually quite nice. I was pleasantly surprised by the visuals. The sound quality is adequate, and sounds fine through headphones.
I have another portable DVD player by Phillips that includes a remote control and more options for hooking up to a television, and I use that when I visit one of my elderly relatives who does not own a DVD player.
